The invention discloses a method for preparing Ta2AlC block ceramic through a spark plasma sintering process and belongs to the technical field of novel structure material preparation. The method comprises the following steps that 1, tantalum powder, aluminum powder and carbon powder are used as raw materials and mixed according to the molar ratio of Ta:Al:C=2:(1-1.5):(0.7-1); 2, the mixture is placed into a ball-milling tank and mixed on a planetary ball mill for 12-36 h in a wetted mode; 3, a rotary evaporator is adopted for drying the mixture, and then the mixture is placed into a graphite grinding device to be prepressed; 4, a mould is placed into a spark plasma sintering furnace, and under protection of Ar, heating, heat preserving and cooling are carried out to obtain the Ta2AlC block ceramic. The invention further discloses Ta2AlC block ceramic prepared through the method. The Ta2AlC block ceramic prepared through the spark plasma sintering process has the advantages of being high in purity, high in compactness, small in grain and excellent in mechanical property; the preparing method for the spark plasma sintering process is simple in process, and has high practicality, and synthesis time is short.
