The invention discloses an environment-friendly waterborne inorganic dry powder coating for an exterior wall. The coating is prepared by mixing the following raw materials by weight: heavyweight calcium carbonate powder, calcium hydroxide, talcum powder, lightweight calcium carbonate powder, quartz sand, silicate, bentonite, inorganic dry powder coating adhesive powder, terpolymer dispersible adhesive powder, multifunctional polymeric adhesive powder and iron oxide pigment, wherein the multifunctional polymeric adhesive powder is prepared by compounding hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, high-viscosity PVA, hydroxyl-modified starch, hydroxyl sesbania adhesive powder, an ethylene-oxide polymer and nanoscale siliceous micropowder. The inorganic dry powder coating is non-toxic and odorless, is simple and convenient in construction operation, has low cost, does not discharge volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the use process, and has the functions of freshening air, removing toxic volatile substances, resisting bacteria and preventing mildew.
