The invention discloses a grooving machine specially used for the installation of a wall junction box. In the prior art, junction box installation grooves or wire slots in the wall are manually made. A main handle of the grooving machine is provided with a switch button used for controlling a motor; multiple sprocket wheels are fixed to a transmission shaft; the transmission shaft is fixed to an output shaft of the motor; the number of chain guiding plates is identical to that of the sprocket wheels; each chain guiding plate is aligned with the corresponding sprocket wheel; the chain guiding plates and a tensioning installation plate are connected to multiple adjusting slots in a rack main body through bolts; the tensioning installation plate and a screw rod form a screw pair; the screw rod is supported outside the rack main body through a bearing; a chain provided with teeth is installed on each group comprising one sprocket wheel and the corresponding chain guiding plate; the outer side of each chain provided with teeth is provided with sawteeth; a scale and a sliding channel of the rack main body form a sliding pair; the scale is provided with multiple limit holes; a limit pin is inserted into one of the limit holes; and the rack main body limits the limit pin. By employing the grooving machine, a square deep groove can be made in the wall by one time, and the depth of the groove can be adjusted; wire slots can also be made in the wall; and high efficiency and energy conservation are achieved.
