The invention provides an installation method of I-steel cantilevered external scaffolding, pertaining to the technical field of construction engineering. The method comprises following steps: installing cantilever beams; installing vertical rods; pre-embedding lifting rings; installing longitudinal horizontal rods; installing transverse horizontal rods; synchronously erecting shear palms and transverse shear palms along with a scaffold structure; installing wall-connecting pieces; laying scaffold boards; hanging a safety net; and installing hauling steel wire ropes. The installation method of the I-steel cantilevered external scaffolding has following beneficial effects: the erection method of the scaffolding is reasonable and scientific; and the overall scaffolding is vertically stable and does not tilt so that cantilevering height of each section of the scaffold is lifted; amount of cantilevering steel material is saved; and manpower and cost are also saved.
