The method comprises the following steps: S1, dissolving an alkaline earth metal salt, a tantalum saltand a nitrogen source I in alcohol, and carrying out ball milling and drying to obtain a mixed precursor; S2, putting the mixed precursor obtained in the step S1 and a nitrogen source II into a reaction container, and calcining in a protective atmosphere to obtain the BaTaO2N oxynitride powder; the mixed precursor and the nitrogen source II are arranged at intervals. The preparation method disclosed by the invention is short in preparation period; the obtained product is high in purity and good in dielectric property.
