The invention relates to a direct-current and alternating-current universal gate hoist. The universal gate hoist comprises a motor, a speed reducer, an energy storage device, an inverter controller and a brake resistor, and the motor is a double-stator winding motor and is connected with mains supply; the speed reducer is connected with the motor and used for controlling the rotating speed of themotor, the first end of the inverter controller is connected with the electric energy output end of the energy storage device, the second end of the inverter controller is connected with the electricenergy input end of the motor, and the brake resistor is connected with the inverter controller. Based on that the gate hoist is connected with the mains supply, the energy storage device capable of outputting the direct current and the inversion controller for realizing reverse conversion of the direct current-alternating current are additionally arranged, the motor in the gate hoist can independently work under the condition that the alternating current is provided by the mains supply and can also independently work under the condition that the direct current output by the energy storage device is inversely converted into the alternating current, and the universal effect of the gate hoist under the direct current and alternating current conditions is achieved.
