The slump retaining agent is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 350-400 parts of unsaturated polyether; 5-7 parts of an oxidizing agent; 10 to 12 parts of acrylic acid; 0.1 to 0.3 part of a first reducing agent; 2-4 parts of a chain transfer agent; 30 to 35 parts of hydroxy acrylate; 1-3 parts of a second reducing agent; 10 to 12 parts of a pH regulator and 525 to 600 parts of deionized water, wherein the acrylic acid hydroxyl ester comprises hydroxyethyl acrylate and hydroxypropyl acrylate. The slump retaining agent disclosed by the invention has relatively long slump retaining capacity, almost does not lose slump over time, and ishigh in concrete strength, excellent in comprehensive performance and high in product cost performance.
