The invention discloses an ecological guardrail for an urban road. The road pile structure comprises a plurality of road piles arranged on two sides of a road at equal intervals, two planting boxes are arranged on the opposite side walls of every two adjacent road piles; a cylindrical groove is formed in the upper wall of the road pile; a partition plate is arranged on the inner wall, close to themiddle, of the cylindrical groove. The cylindrical tank is divided into a water storage tank positioned at the upper end and a control tank positioned at the lower end by the partition plate; a watersupply mechanism is arranged in the water storage tank and the control tank, the water supply mechanism comprises a water injection cylinder fixedly inserted into the middle of the partition plate, two limiting rings are arranged on the side wall, located at the lower end of the partition plate, of the water injection cylinder, and the outer wall, located at the lower end of the partition plate,of the water injection cylinder is slidably sleeved with a thermal expansion floating block of an annular structure. Water supply and water cut-off can be automatically conducted on plants in the planting box according to temperature changes, so that it is guaranteed that the plants cannot die due to high-temperature environment drought, and a large amount of time and energy are saved for workers.
