The invention relates to an open type side guardrail device of a sanitation vehicle. The device comprises a vehicle chassis or a vehicle secondary beam, a side guardrail, a fixed bracket and a connecting device. The connecting mode is as follows: the fixed bracket is fixedly connected with the vehicle chassis or the vehicle secondary beam and the side guardrail is movably connected with the fixedbracket through the connecting device; the fixed bracket has a frame structure and is arranged transversely or longitudinally, so that the fixed bracket extends to the edge of the vehicle from the inside of the vehicle bottom to the outside. The connecting device comprises a telescopic device and/or a rotating mechanism and thus the side guardrail can be opened or closed towards one side or two sides. Therefore, a defect that the side guardrail needs to be disassembled or assembled during maintenance and adjustment and is inconvenient to maintain is overcome, the labor intensity is reduced, and the working efficiency is improved; and the open type side guardrail device belongs to the field of vehicle protection safety.
