The invention discloses a method for transporting steel columns under a trestle. The method comprises the steps that model parameters of the steel columns are received, wherein the model parameters comprise the weight of the steel columns and the length values of the steel columns in the set transportation direction; transportation trolleys are selected according to the model parameters, wherein the transportation trolleys comprise a first transportation trolley and a second transportation trolley, and the total length of the first transportation trolley and the second transportation trolley in the set transportation direction is not smaller than 2/3 of the length values of the steel columns; the steel columns are placed above the first transportation trolley and the second transportationtrolley, wherein the first transportation trolley is located in front of the second transportation trolley in the set transportation direction at intervals; the first transportation trolley is pulledforwards in the set transportation direction, and the second transportation trolley is pushed forwards until the steel columns move to a set lifting station; and the steel columns are lifted. Due to the fact that the first transportation trolley and the second transportation trolley can prevent the two ends of each steel column in the set transportation direction from being suspended out of the trolleys by a large length, the overturning risk can be reduced, and the transportation stability is improved.
