The invention belongs to the field of traffic infrastructures and particularly relates to a height-limiting protection frame adopting a light composite material cross beam. The frame comprises a crossbeam, two upright posts and two inclined struts, wherein the cross beam transversely penetrates through two stand columns supported on two sides of a road, bottom ends of the stand columns are fixedto a bottom foundation through anchor bolts, the two inclined struts are obliquely arranged on back faces of the two stand columns respectively and are perpendicular to a plane formed by the cross beam and the stand columns, top ends of the inclined struts are connected with the stand columns, and bottom ends of the inclined struts are fixed to a bottom foundation through anchor bolts, and the cross beam is made of a pultrusion continuous fiber reinforced foaming polyurethane composite material. The height-limiting protection frame has advantages of being light, high in strength, capable of absorbing energy, buffering and easy to install, besides the function of warning passing motor vehicles that the height exceeds the limit, energy generated by collision of the ultrahigh motor vehicles can be consumed, and the probability that casualties are caused by collapse of the cross beam is reduced as much as possible.
