The invention discloses a multifunctional drainage system based on highway engineering and belongs to the technical field of pavement drainage. The multifunctional drainage system comprises drainage channels arranged in two sides of a highway pavement, drainage mechanisms arranged in the drainage channels for accelerating the drainage efficiency of the highway pavement and water collecting assemblies which are connected to the drainage mechanisms and are arranged on two sides of a highway for collecting water, wherein the water connecting assemblies comprise water collecting tanks which are connected to the drainage mechanisms and are arranged on two sides of the highway, water collecting parts arranged in the bottoms of the water collecting tanks, filter parts arranged in the bottoms of the water collecting tanks and spray parts arranged on the tops of the water collecting tanks. The invention aims to provide the multifunctional drainage system based on highway engineering. The multifunctional drainage system based on highway engineering can improve the drainage efficiency, prevent gravel blockage and collect excessive rainwater for use in a municipal environment, so that a waterlogging condition is reduced.
