The invention relates to a fiber-layer composite material having an intermediate layer (2) made of a fiber-reinforced synthetic resin, on both sides of which a sheet material made of a shaped memory alloy (3) is bonded. The sheet material is pseudo-elastically stretched and the fibers (4) are elastically stretched such that the sheet material is under compressive stress and the fibers (4) are under tensile stress. By heating to or beyond the transformation temperature of the shaped memory alloy (3), the sheet shrinks, which enhances the elastically stretched fibres (4).
