The invention discloses a friction pendulum vibration isolation device with a vertical gravity tuning unit, and belongs to the technical field of vibration reduction and vibration isolation. The device can achieve stable vibration isolation on pulse type seismic motion, long-period seismic motion and seismic motion of other traditional vibration isolation devices weak in vibration isolation effect. According to the technical essentials, vibration isolation units are arranged between an upper plate and a lower plate; vertical supporting portions are fixedly supported on the ground, and the upper ends of the vertical supporting portions are mounted on the bottom face of the lower plate; and a gravity tuning portion is arranged in the vertical supporting portion, and the upper end of the gravity tuning portion is fixedly connected with the upper plate. Each vibration isolation unit comprises a lower sliding portion, a changeover sliding block and an upper connecting block, all of which are in contact, and no fixing measures are adopted. By means of the gravity tuning portion, the vibration isolation amplitude and stability of the device can be remarkably enhanced, the gravity tuning portion is only influenced by the radius of the frictionpendulum arc face, and the device is especially suitable for seismic protection of floating cultural relics, precision equipment and the like.
