A vehicle-carrying-plate-free charging system comprises a charging control unit, alternating-current and direct-current charging equipment, charging connecting devices and a garage control unit, wherein the garage control unit is connected with the charging control unit, the charging control unit is connected with the alternating-current and direct-current charging equipment, the alternating-current and direct-current charging equipment is connected with the multiple charging connecting devices, and the charging connecting devices are connected with a new energy vehicle. The charging system and method provided by the invention have the advantages of simple operation, safety, reliability, low cost and the like, and can meet the parking and charging requirements of comb tooth type vehicle-carrying-plate-free stereo garages; and meanwhile, a bidirectional interaction and interlocking mechanism of a charging system and a garage system is provided, so that the safety of the charging processcan be greatly improved.
