The invention relates to a parking system for an old community and a parking method of the parking system. The system involves a foundation pit, at least two layers of parking platforms, a lifting structure and a control panel; that foundation pit is formed between buildings of the community through excavation; the parking platforms are arranged in the foundation pit, the parking platform locatedat the top is flush with the ground around the foundation pit, and a plurality of parking spaces are marked on each parking platform; the lifting structure is arranged at the bottom of the parking platform located at the bottom and is supported on the bottom face of the foundation pit, the height of the lifting structure is adjustable, the height of the lifting structure is adjusted so as to liftand lower the parking platforms, and therefore the parking platforms can be flush with the ground around the foundation pit; and the control panel is arranged on the ground around the foundation pit,and the control panel is electrically connected with the lifting structure. According to the system and the method, the problem that parking is difficult in the old community is effectively solved; and the parking system is small in required space, low in manufacturing cost, increases the number of parking spaces under the condition of not affecting the total greening area of the community, and wide in application range.
