The invention provides a dynamic compactor depth detecting and measuring device and a measurement method thereof. The dynamic compactor depth detecting and measuring device comprises a dynamic compactor rack, a measurement device and a fixing support, wherein the measurement device internally comprises a pan-tilt, a high-precision positioning camera, a laser range finder, a guide rail, a pan-tiltcontroller, a rotating motor and a horizontal sensor; the pan-tilt is transversely installed on the guide rail; the laser range finder and the high-precision positioning camera are installed on the pan-tilt; the pan-tilt is connected with the pan-tilt controller, the rotating motor and the horizontal sensor; and the measurement device is fixed to the dynamic compactor rack through the fixing support. The measurement method comprises the steps of mechanical structure design, visual positioning, data acquisition and communication and tamping pit depth calculation. The problem that tamping pit depth measurement is difficult is solved, the measurement device can accurately measure the depth of a tamping pit, on-site measurement does not need to be conducted by spending manpower of workers, themeasurement time and labor force of the workers are saved, energy waste is avoided, and the engineering quality is guaranteed.
