The invention relates to the field of guardrails, and especially relates to an adjustable guardrail structure for a bridge. The guardrail structure comprises guardrails vertically arranged on two sides of the bridge, each guardrail comprises stand columns located at the two ends of the guardrail, a limiting rod extending to the position below the liquid level is arranged at the bottom of each stand column located on the upstream, an obstacle sensing system is arranged between the two limiting rods, an upper cross beam fixedly connected to the upper ends of the two stand columns and a handrailassembly located below the upper cross beam are arranged between the two stand columns located on the downstream, each stand column is of a hollow structure, a vertical stud is rotatably sleeved witheach stand column and extends downwards to the position below the liquid level, the two sides of the handrail assembly are connected to the vertical studs in a screwed mode, a driving device for driving each vertical stud to rotate is arranged at the end part of the vertical stud, and the obstacle sensing system is electrically connected with the driving devices and used for controlling the guardrail assembly to ascend and descend movably. The guardrails can be automatically adjusted to descend according to the liquid level condition so as to intercept large garbage or waterweeds, and the problems that an original fixed guardrail is single in structure and few in function are solved.
