The invention provides a method for treating a waste automobile tail gas catalyst through pyrogenic attack, and belongs to the technical field of waste resource processing. The method comprises the following steps: carrying out rough grinding and ultra-fine grinding on the waste automobile tail gas catalyst, mixing the catalyst with copper-containing hazardous waste to prepare granules, then adding the granules to an oxygen-rich side blowing furnace for smelting, trapping rare and precious metals under the high temperature by adopting the copper-containing hazardous waste, and then extractingthe rare and precious metals from copper anode mud through a wet method. Low-sulfur flue gas produced in the smelting process is subjected to organic amine adsorption desulfurization after dust collection, and pure sulfur dioxide gas produced by desorption is used for producing sulfuric acid; and smelting furnace slag is used for producing the microcrystalline glass and other building materials after being subjected to magnetic separation. The treatment method not only can efficiently recycle rare and precious metals, is short in technological process and large in treatment amount, reduces energy consumption, and improves the recycling rate of the rare and precious metals; and meanwhile, waste gas and waste residues are effectively treated and recycled, and production environment is good.
