The invention discloses a structural recurrence period estimation method based on a nonlinear flood storage and discharge model. The structural recurrence period estimation method comprises the following steps: establishing the nonlinear flood storage and discharge model, establishing a reservoir capacity-reservoir water level nonlinear relationship, and establishing a discharge flow-reservoir water level nonlinear relationship; establishing a structural function under the setting of a nonlinear flood storage and discharge model, establishing a correlation between flood characteristics and structural characteristics in the nonlinear flood storage and discharge model according to the nonlinear flood storage and discharge model by taking the most dam front water level as a structural designvariable and taking a flood peak and a flood volume as flood characteristic variables, and taking the correlation as the structural function; and establishing flood peak and quantity joint probabilitydistribution, and deducing a structure recurrence period. According to the method, the nonlinear reservoir model is adopted, the nonlinear change process of the discharge capacity of the reservoir incase of flood can be reflected more accurately, the structural recurrence period can be calculated more accurately, and the flood risk can be evaluated scientifically.
