The invention relates to the technical field of riverway cleaning, and discloses a riverway garbage intercepting device. The riverway garbage intercepting device comprises pontoons, connecting frames,ropes, counterweight components and an intercepting net; two pontoons are in a group; the two pontoons are connected through the connecting frames; two connecting frames are arranged and are mountedat two ends of the two pontoons; two ropes are arranged and penetrate through a plurality of groups of the pontoons; and the top end of the intercepting net is mounted on the connecting frames throughbuckles. The riverway garbage intercepting device is placed in a riverway and float on the surface of water to intercept the garbage on the surface of the water, prevent the garbage from flowing downstream, and collect the garbage; and a large amount of riverway garbage can be removed by salvaging the intercepted garbage periodically; and the device is simple in structure, easy to assemble, low in cost and obvious in effect, saves time, can be quickly mounted, is suitable for various types of riverways, and can reduce the manpower and financial resources input.
