The method comprises the following steps: respectively detecting a first number of passing targets in a first detection area on a road and a secondnumber of passing targets in a second detection area on a road intersected with the road; determining a first safety warning scheme or a second safety warning scheme according to the first quantity and the second quantity; performing safety warning according to the first safety warning scheme or the second safety warning scheme, wherein the first safety warning scheme is a safety warning scheme in which the first number and the second number are single, and the second safety warning scheme is a safety warning scheme in which at least one of the first number and the second number is multiple.The road safety warning device is suitable for warning of road safety.
