The invention relates a novel external wall painting machine. The machine comprises a horizontal support placed at the top of a bearing column, wherein the horizontal support comprises a horizontallyplaced transverse beam and transverse plates arranged at the two ends of the transverse beam, a traction device is arranged in the middle of the transverse beam, a mounting frame is arranged below thetransverse plate, the traction device penetrates through the transverse plate to be fixedly connected with the mounting frame, and a guiding device in contact with the bearing column and a brushing device in contact with a wall are arranged outside the mounting frame. According to the machine, by means of the traction device, the mounting frame equipped with the brushing device is gradually lowered, a lowering speed of the brushing device is slowed down through cooperation of a ratchet and a pawl, manual brushing is not needed, and the brushing efficiency is improved. According to the machine, through cooperation of the horizontal support and the guiding device, an L-shaped plate tightly clamps and fixes a corner of the bearing column, grasping force between a strip-shaped protrusion outside a guide roller and the wall enables the whole guiding device to descend vertically but cannot ascend, and the brushing device is guaranteed not to shake left and right in a descending process.
