The invention relates to the field of traffic construction and discloses a method for changing a road level crossing into an interchange. The method comprises the following steps of: 1, downwards digging a horizontal path right lane and a horizontal path left and right lane of the level crossing so as to form an H-shaped main line groove downwards passing through a longitudinal path; 2, downwardsdigging the longitudinal path two-way right lane of the level crossing so as to form a branch line groove communicated with a main line; 3, building interchange channel boxes on the main line groove and the branch line groove; 4, connecting the top plates of the channel boxes through connecting plates to form an upper hollow layer; and 5, arranging the interchange channel boxes and determining passing rules. With the method for changing the road level crossing into the interchange of the invention, land acquisition and demolition are not needed under the conditions of narrow urban road space and short road network intersection distance; traffic jam can be effectively alleviated, and urban parking difficulty can be relieved.
