The invention relates to a device for pile foundation high strain detection and a detection method applying the device. The device comprises a supporting frame which is arranged on the ground, a heavyhammer which is arranged in the supporting frame and moves in the vertical direction to impact a pile top, a vertical moving device which is arranged on the supporting frame and drives the heavy hammer to move in the vertical direction, and a stable guiding device which is arranged on the supporting frame and enables the heavy hammer to move in the vertical direction, wherein the stable guiding device comprises two vertical guiding sliding rails arranged on two sides of the supporting frame, a sliding rail driving mechanism which is arranged on the supporting frame and is used for driving thetwo guiding sliding rails to move oppositely, and guiding parts which are arranged on two opposite sides of the heavy hammer and connected with the guiding sliding rails in a sliding mode in the vertical direction, the supporting frame is provided with two translation blocks located on the two opposite sides of the two guide sliding rails respectively, the guide sliding rails are connected with the translation blocks in a sliding mode in the vertical direction, and a guide sliding rail driving mechanism driving the guide sliding rails to move in the vertical direction is arranged on an upperportion of the supporting frame. The device is advantaged in that the guide sliding rails are moved upwards, and the heavy hammer can be disengaged from bottom ends of the two guide sliding rails.
