The invention discloses a state-variable height limiting rod with high safety. The rod comprises supporting columns which are bilaterally symmetrical and are fixedly arranged on two sides of a road; an intercepting device is arranged on each supporting column; each intercepting device comprises a first rotating shaft which is rotatably arranged in the end face of each of the opposite sides of theupper ends of the supporting columns; an interception control device is arranged on each supporting column; each interception control device comprises a control cavity which is formed in the supporting column and located on each of opposite sides of the first rotating shafts on the left side and the right side. The interception control devices can guarantee the normal passage of buses or other special vehicles; when a limited-height vehicle approaches in an overspeed mode, the interception control devices can make a response very quickly to drive the height limiting rod to overturn upwards quickly to remove limitation, violent collision between the overspeed height limiting vehicle and the height limiting rod is avoided; and the safety of personnel in the vehicle is ensured, vehicle damageand casualty accidents in the vehicle are avoided, and the safety is higher.
