The invention relates to the field of ceramic wave-transparent materials, in particular to a middle layer for a quartz fiber reinforced quartz composite material and a preparation method thereof. Thepreparation method comprises the following steps: mixing powder and a bonding solution according to a mass ratio of 100: (50-150), carrying out ball-milling, mixing, and grinding, spraying or brushingthe mixture on the surface of a matrix, and carrying out a curing treatment to obtain the middle layer. The preparation method is scientific, reasonable, simple, feasible, and convenient to implement. The middle layer is low in thermal expansion coefficient, thermal shock resistant and corrosion resistant, the single-component or multi-phase ceramic serves as the middle layer of a damp-proof coating and a matrix, and the middle layer, which is prepared through the method and is used for a quartz fiber reinforced quartz composite material, is good in matching performance with the matrix, highin bonding strength and good in corrosion resistance.
