The invention provides a bidirectional displacement-limiting sliding support structure and an assembling method thereof, relates to the technical field of grid structures. The bidirectional displacement-limiting sliding support structure is used in a grid structure comprising a grid rod member and a steel column, and comprises a sliding support fixed at the top end of the steel column, a support stand column slidably connected with the sliding support, at least one limiting circular pipe arranged on the support stand column in the X-axis direction, at least one limiting pipe arranged on the support stand column in the Y-axis direction, and a telescopic device installed in the limiting circular pipe. The grid rod member extends into the limiting circular pipe to abut against the internal telescopic device; the sliding support is provided with a sliding groove, and the support stand column can move in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction of the sliding groove; and the support stand column can move in the Z-axis direction but is limited. Stress generated by the steel structure due to the temperature effect can be released through a support sliding method, and the bending moment of a connecting node can be released through the support micro-rotation, so that the displacement-limiting hinging effect of the support is realized.
