The invention provides a concrete curing agent and a preparation method thereof, and solves the technical problems of low effective water retention rate and insufficient compressive strength ratio ofthe concrete curing agent in the prior art. The concrete curing agent comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20 to 30 parts of methyl methacrylate, 30 to 40 parts of styrene, 22 to28 parts of aluminum sulfate, 3 to 7 parts of carboxymethyl cellulose, 10 to 20 parts of an EVA emulsion, 10 to 15 parts of sodium silicate, 0.2 to 0.6 part of lithium carbonate, 0.1 to 0.4 part of triethanolamine, 1 to 3 parts of a coalescing agent, 0.8 to 1.5 parts of a defoaming agent, 1 to 3 parts of a leveling agent, 0.1 to 0.5 part of a plasticizer, and 20 to 28 parts of water. The concretecuring agent provided by the invention can be used after initial setting of concrete in manners of spraying, brush coating or roll coating and the like, has high effective water retention rate and excellent compressive strength ratio, and also has the advantages of low abrasion loss and short drying time.
