The speed locking mild steel damper and the large-span bridge are used for meeting the longitudinal shock absorption requirements of the bridge under the action of different dynamic loads. Therefore, on one hand, the speed locking mild steel damper comprises a speed locker and adamping tenon assembly which are horizontally arranged, and the damping tenon assembly comprises a base, a plurality of damping tenons and a top plate; the multiple damping tenons are vertically andfixedly arranged at the top of the base, the top end of each damping tenon is fixedly connected with a spherical force transmission head, the spherical force transmission heads are installed in an installation cavity in the bottom of the top plate in a matched mode, and a piston rod of the speed locker is fixedly connected with the side portion of the top plate.
