The invention provides a metal damper. The metal damper comprises a connecting plate, an upper connecting bottom plate, a lower connecting bottom plate, a shearing energy consumption unit and at leasttwo pressure bearing units, wherein the connecting plate is connected with the lower connecting bottom plate; the shearing energy consumption unit is arranged in the middle part of the metal damper,the bottom of the shearing energy consumption unit is connected with the lower connecting bottom plate, and the top of the shearing energy consumption unit is connected with the upper connecting bottom plate; the pressure bearing units are arranged on the two sides of the shearing energy consumption unit correspondingly, and each pressure bearing unit comprises an upper pressure bearing column, alower pressure bearing column and metal balls; the bottoms of the lower pressure bearing columns are connected with the lower connecting bottom plate, and the tops of the lower pressure bearing columns abut against the bottoms of the metal balls; and the tops of the upper pressure bearing columns are connected with the upper connecting bottom plate, and the bottoms of the upper pressure bearing columns abut against the tops of the metal balls. By applying the metal damper, the energy consumption effect of the damper can be better exerted.
