The invention discloses a water-fertilizer integrated irrigation system for intelligent agriculture and an irrigation method of the water-fertilizer integrated irrigation system. The irrigation systemand method are applied to drip irrigation planting in deserts, and comprises a main conveying pipeline and branch irrigation pipes connected to the main conveying pipeline; a negative-pressure port is formed in the top of the main conveying pipeline; the negative-pressure port communicates with the branch irrigation pipes; the irrigation system further comprises a laying robot used for arrangingthe branch irrigation pipes. According to the system and the method, multiple rotating wheels are driven to rotate by power of a drive motor in an advancing process of the laying robot, then synchronous laying of the multiple branch irrigation pipes winding around the rotating wheels is completed, so that manual laying cost is reduced, and working efficiency is improved; and besides, loose and soft characteristics of sandy soil are taken into consideration, a limiting mechanism and a channeling mechanism are additionally arranged, and therefore, the extending branch irrigation pipes are not bent easily with the sandy soil during laying and after laying.
