The invention discloses a vibration isolating groove for the high-rise building and an installation method thereof. A main building and a matching building are involved, wherein the vibration isolating groove is formed between the main building and the matching building. A first steel rod is fixed to the main building, and a second steel rod parallel to the first steel rod is fixed to the matchingbuilding. The first steel rod and the second steel rod are located on the two sides of the vibration isolating groove respectively and horizontally arranged. Multiple horizontally-arranged supportingpipes are fixed to the first steel rod, and multiple horizontally-arranged second supporting pipes are fixed to the second steel rod. The first supporting pipes and the second supporting pipes are cross arranged. Buffer gaps are formed between the first supporting pipes and the second steel rod and between the second steel rod and the first steel rod. A drainage groove is placed above the first supporting pipes and the second supporting pipes. An anti-vibration cover plate covering the vibration isolating groove is installed above the drainage groove. By arranging the vibration isolating groove, the main building and the matching building are prevented from shaking, and the vibration isolating groove has the functions such as water guide and fire protection.
