The invention discloses a preparation method of a carbon-containing refractory material, which takes titanium powder, silicon powder and crystalline flake graphite as raw materials, and adopts a combustion synthesis method to prepare TiC-SiC coated crystalline flake graphite under the conditions of vacuumizing and inert gas injection. The raw materials comprise, by mass, 51.43%-59.02% of titaniumpowder, 10%-11.48% of silicon powder and 29.5%-38.57% of crystalline flake graphite, and the total content of the raw materials is 100%. According to the method, a large amount of heat released by thereaction of Ti powder and graphite is used for triggering the reaction of Si powder and graphite, so that a TiC-SiC composite coating is formed on the surface of crystalline flake graphite. The silicon powder can achieve the effects of preventing an oxidant and improving the integrity and uniformity of a TiC-SiC coating in a combustion synthesis reaction, so that the technical problem that crystalline flake graphite cannot be fully utilized in a refractory material in the prior art is solved.
