The invention discloses a cross brace assembly for a building support frame and a method for supporting the lateral of a frame body by using the cross brace assembly. The cross brace assembly comprises cross brace bodies and right-angle couplers fixing the cross brace bodies onto a scaffold; each cross brace body includes a steel tube section and a hemisphere section; and the plane where the sphere center of the hemisphere section is located is fixed onto one end of the steel tube section. Embedded parts do not need to be embedded, and rod pieces do not need to be welded onto the embedded parts to tie the frame body, so that the cross brace assembly has the characteristics of labor saving and material saving; the cross brace assembly is simple and convenient to operate and is environment-friendly, eliminates air pollution, and is of great benefit to protecting the health of workers; ventilation equipment is also not needed; point contact between the cross brace bodies and a wall body can be realized through the hemisphere sections of the cross brace bodies, and thus, the slight displacement of end faces of the cross brace bodies and the wall body under the action of an external force is avoided, thereby improving the stability of supporting the lateral of the frame body.
