The invention relates to a construction method for reinforcing a rectangular variable-cross-section frame column of a historical building. The construction method comprises the steps that lower-layerreinforcing angle steel wraps the four corners of a bottom-layer frame column; the lower-layer reinforcing angle steel is welded by flat steel batten plates; a lower angle steel enclosure is installedat a column foot of the bottom-layer frame column; the lower-layer reinforcing angle steel penetrates through an upper-layer floor; a second-layer lower angle steel enclosure is arranged at the edgeof the lower-layer reinforcing angle steel tightly attaching to and penetrating through the floor; upper-layer reinforcing angle steel is installed according to the steps 1 and 2, and a lower openingof the upper-layer reinforcing angle steel 11 is connected with the top end of the lower-layer reinforcing angle steel 1 through short angle steel 4; epoxy mortar is poured into a cavity formed by theupper-layer floor, the lower angle steel enclosure, the short angle steel, the upper-layer reinforcing angle steel and the lower-layer reinforcing angle steel; beam-penetrating reinforcing steel barsare embedded, and two ends of the beam-penetrating reinforcing steel bars are welded with the reinforcing angle steel; an upper angle steel enclosure is added at the position, located at the lower edge of a frame beam, of the periphery of the frame column; and epoxy mortar 8 is poured among all the reinforcing angle steel, the flat steel batten plates and an original reinforcing frame column. Themethod is a reinforcing measure which is a safe, effective and high-enforceability.
