The invention discloses a mechanical ironing plate width reducing boot which comprises a left flat plate width reducing boot assembly and a right flat plate width reducing boot assembly which are installed on a left spiral hanging bracket and a right spiral hanging bracket of a spiral distributor of a paver and are of the same structure, and further comprises a left pressing plate and a right pressing plate which are installed at the lower ends of the left spiral hanging bracket and the right spiral hanging bracket. A connecting plate which is adjustable in a left-and-right direction is installed on the left pressing plate and the right pressing plate. Left and right front striker plates are installed on the inner sides of left and right connecting plates, the lower ends of the left and right front striker plates are hinged to left and right movable frames with left and right lower baffles and left and right pressing plates installed at the lower ends, and adjusting rods hinged to theleft and right movable frames turn over the left and right movable frames through a set of adjusting holes in the adjusting rods to adjust the ground clearance of the left and right lower baffles. A left-right rear striker plate of which the width can be adjusted left and right is arranged at the front end of the ironing plate; the invention further relates to a paver with the mechanical ironing plate width reducing boot.
