The pile driver comprises a pile hammer and guide rods; the pile hammer is supported on the guide rods in a sliding mode, a pile hammer steel rope is fixedly fastened on the pile hammer, the pile hammer steel rope is wound on a steel rope reel of a planet wheel winch, the planet wheel winch comprises a motor and the steel rope reel, and the motor drives the steel rope reel through planetary gear transmission; the number of the guide rods is two, the upper ends and the lower ends of the two guide rods are fixedly provided witha top cross beam and a lower cross beam respectively, and the planet wheel winch is fixedly arranged at the upper ends of the guide rods; and a reel brake and a gear train brake are electromagnetic brakes. The planet wheel type drop hammer pile driver does not need to perform engaging and disengaging operation on a driving motor, and is high in pile driving efficiency, reasonable in structure andconvenient to use and operate.
