The invention discloses a small-section concrete column and large-section steel structure column switching structure and a construction method. The switching structure comprises a concrete column, a steel structure column foundation and a switching joint column, wherein a steel keel in the concrete column is connected with the steel structure column foundation at the upper position through a switching joint in the switching joint column, and the steel keel is of a cross-shaped steel structure with a small section and is in transition to the box-shaped steel structure column foundation with a large section through the cross-shaped switching joint column. According to the switching structure, the steel structure column foundation is connected with the steel keel of the concrete column to form an integrated structure through the switching joint, then, a steel keel concrete supporting column of a steel-concrete structure building is integrally connected with a steel structure column to support the steel structure column, the stability and reliability of connection between the steel structure column and the foundation are guaranteed, and thus the safety of a building structure is guaranteed; and besides, the sectional dimension is increased upwards from the cross-shaped steel keel with the small section through the switching joint to be equal to the sectional dimension of the box-shaped steel structure column, the strength and stability of the structure are gradually enhanced, and the stability of the steel structure column is guaranteed.
