The invention discloses an electromagnetic lock control system and method suitable for an ammeter, and relates to the field of ammeter lock structures. The problem that danger is brought to workers due to the fact that an ammeter is possibly loaded during replacement is solved. The electromagnetic lock control system comprises an electromagnetic lock catch (2) arranged between an ammeter (1) and abase (3), and further comprises a main station and a client; and the electromagnetic lock catch (2) is jointly controlled by the main station and the client to lock the relative position of the ammeter (1) and the base (3), and the ammeter (1) is used for controlling power on-off of the electromagnetic lock catch (2). According to the electromagnetic lock control system, in the hot plug process,no-load operation of the ammeter is achieved, and no electric shock danger exists.
