The invention relates to railway lines, in particular to a steel rail. The end face of an existing steel rail is a plane, a long rail seam is formed after connection, train vibration is caused, resistance and noise are generated, and losses of trains and lines are increased; and the rail seam harm is not solved after short rails are welded into long rails. The end face of the steel rail is changedinto a trapezoidal face from a plane, and after connection, a long rail seam is decomposed into a plurality of short rail seams; wheels can stably roll through the rail seams, so that vibration, noise and resistance are reduced, losses of trains and lines are reduced, and cost is saved; and the problem of rail seam vibration for more than one hundred years is solved. The trapezoidal rail end is suitable for stations, bridges and other lines still using short rails, and is especially suitable for industrial and mining enterprise rails and urban subways.
