The invention relates to an efflorescence inhibitor for ordinary Portland cement. The efflorescence inhibitor comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 5-10 parts of sulphoaluminate cement; 35-45 parts of mineral powder; 5-10 parts of metakaolin; 5-10 parts of silica fume; 1-2 parts of active white carbon black; 1-3 parts of latex powder; 0.1-0.3 parts of cellulose ether; and 0.05-0.15 parts of starch ether. According to the present invention, the efflorescence degree value, the calcium hydroxide content and the compressive strength value of a test piece using the efflorescenceinhibitor at each stage can be determined through a specified method, the performance of the efflorescence inhibitor can be quantitatively evaluated, and the early efflorescence degree and the secondary efflorescence degree can be effectively reduced; and the compactness of cement is improved, early shrinkage is reduced, and later compressive strength of the test piece is improved.
