The invention discloses a device for pumping garbage floating on water surface. The device for pumping the garbage floating on the water surface comprises a water surface floating platform, an algae feeding hopper, a water pump, an algae discharging pipe, a collecting box and a filtering net; the water pump and the collecting box are arranged on the water surface floating platform; under the action of the water pump, the algae feeding hopper sucks in floating garbage on the water surface and water together; the floating garbage and the water enter the collecting box through the water pump andthe algae discharging pipe; the floating garbage is collected on the filtering net; water flows downwards to pass through the filtering net and enters an interlayer cavity through an inner shell drainage hole; and water in the interlayer cavity is drained out of the collecting box through a water outlet. According to the collecting box of the device for pumping the garbage floating on the water surface, the interlayer cavity is arranged to be a drainage passage by using a communicating vessel principle, so that a space is reserved for a balance weight in the collecting box, object-liquid separation can be rapidly achieved; and therefore, garbage can be conveniently stored. The device for pumping the garbage floating on the water surface is compact and small in structure and is not limitedby a shallow water environment. Due to the fact that an obstacle avoidance sensor is additionally arranged, obstacles can be effectively avoided in the self-moving process of the device on the water surface.
