The invention relates to the technical field of sponge city rainwater treatment, in particular to an urban road rainwater interception and purification system. A rainwater purification device comprises a main body and a filter screen basket, a drainage pipeline communicating with the interior of the filter screen basket is arranged at the bottom of the rainwater purification device, and a valve body is arranged at the end of the drainage pipeline; when the valve body is opened, a filtering cavity drains water into a secondary water supply device; a supporting structure is arranged at the bottom of a flood storage pond, the secondary water supply device is allowed to slide within a set range, and when the secondary water supply device is located at the top limit position of the sliding position, a discharging opening in the bottom of the secondary water supply device is closed to store water; and a buoy linkage device is further included and used for opening the flood storage pond. According to the urban road rainwater interception and purification system, the rainwater purification device is arranged at the top of the flood storage pond, and the secondary water supply device is arranged in the flood storage pond, so that the whole rainwater interception and purification system is more compact in structure and small in construction area. Meanwhile, the invention further claims the priority of a construction method of the urban road rainwater interception and purification system.
