The invention relates to the field of bridge expansion devices, in particular to a reinforced comb tooth type vibration and noise reduction bridge expansion device and method. The bridge expansion device comprises boundary beams located on the two sides of an expansion joint, the boundary beams are comb tooth type boundary beams (1), and comb teeth of the two boundary beams are staggered; a boundary beam body of each boundary beam comprises a groove, each groove can be matched with the edge of an anchoring steel plate (8), and a supporting bracket (5) is welded to the boundary beam body of theboundary beam on the left side; the supporting bracket (5) is of a plate-shaped structure, the vertical edge of the plate-shaped structure is tightly welded to the boundary beam body in an attached mode, and a sliding steel plate in an up-down sliding steel plate (2) is welded to the upper portion of the plate-shaped structure through a supporting vibration reduction device (4); a fixed steel plate in the up-and-down sliding steel plate (2) is welded below comb teeth of the boundary beam body or on the boundary beam body; and a gap is formed between the sliding steel plate and the fixed steelplate which can slide relative to each other.
