The invention discloses a novel skirting line and an installation manner. The novel skirting line comprises a positioning plate attached to a wall body, a supporting steel lining arranged in the positioning plate and a decorative outer sleeve plate arranged on the outer side of the positioning plate. A limiting inserting groove facilitating installation of the supporting steel lining is formed inthe positioning plate, and a plurality of limiting fixing holes and adjusting fixing holes facilitating installation of fastening adjusting pieces are correspondingly formed in the positioning plate and the supporting steel lining respectively. According to the novel skirting line, the supporting steel lining is embedded in the positioning plate, so that the structural stability of the PVC positioning plate is guaranteed, and the situation that the positioning plate deforms in the using process is avoided; meanwhile, the multiple fastening adjusting pieces are installed on the supporting steellining at equal intervals, so that the distance between the supporting steel lining and the wall body is adjusted by adjusting the different fastening adjusting pieces, the situation that a local part of the wall body is uneven is coped with, and the positioning plate is installed more smoothly and attractively and is not prone to damage.
