The invention discloses a construction method for land reclamation by a belt type sand blowing ship. The construction method comprises the following steps that 1, a sand dam is constructed on the edgeof a construction area through the belt type sand blowing ship, and a sand dam surrounding area is formed; 2, a plurality of grid-shaped reclamation unit blocks are set out and divided in the sand dam surrounding area; 3, the sand blowing ship is fully loaded with sand materials to reach the sand dam surrounding area, two anchors and anchor chains of a bow are used for positioning at the positions away from the reclamation unit blocks by a certain distance, and then a belt conveyor head of the sand blowing ship evenly swings left and right in the reclamation unit blocks for sand throwing; 4,the sand blowing ship leaves the sand dam surrounding area and reaches a sand mining area, and sand suction and cabin loading are carried out at the designated position through a sand suction pipe; 5,after a cabin of the sand blowing ship is fully loaded, the sand blowing ship sails to the sand dam surrounding area, and sand throwing construction of the next reclamation unit block to be thrown and filled is carried out; and 6, the step 3 to the step 5 are repeated until sand throwing construction of all the reclamation unit blocks in the sand dam surrounding area is completed. According to the construction method, uniform ballasting of a land area is ensured.
