The invention relates to a positioning and/or locking driving device for a leaf of a window, door or the like. The positioning and/or locking driving device comprises a housing, a variable-speed motorcomprising a drive unit and a transmission unit, an electronic control device for actuating the variable-speed motor, and an output element which can be acted on by the variable-speed motor and can be coupled or coupled to the leaf or to a locking device associated with the leaf. The speed and/or position of the output element can be controlled and/or adjusted by the electronic control device bytaking into account the respective relative position of the output element detected via the relative or incremental displacement measuring device. Furthermore, the driving device comprises an absolutedisplacement measuring device for detecting a respective absolute position of the output element, wherein the relative or incremental displacement measuring device can be automatically calibrated bythe control device via the absolute displacement measuring device.
