The invention discloses road construction tamping equipment which comprises a machine shell detachably arranged at the output end of a tamping machine vehicle body, a supporting base which is rotationally connected to the bottom end of the inner cavity of the machine shell through a pin shaft and is in a T shape, wherein positioning holes are formed in three supporting legs on the front side of the supporting base; a pressing plate which is fixedly connected to the end part of the supporting seat; a clamping mechanism which is fixedly connected to the bottom end of the front side of the machine shell; a limiting mechanism which is fixedly connected to an opening in the top of the right side of the machine shell; a bottom plate which is fixedly connected to the bottom end of the inner cavity of the machine shell and located at the top end of the supporting base; and a limiting column which is fixedly connected to the center of the top end of the bottom plate. According to the road tamping device, the unit tamping area can be adjusted according to the condition of a to-be-tamped road surface, use is flexible, practicability is high, in addition, the tamping strength can be adjusted according to soil texture, the tamping effect is good, and the road tamping requirement is greatly met.
