The invention discloses an aluminum veneer for building decoration and a forming process thereof, and relates to the technical field of aluminum veneer production. The problem that an existing aluminum veneer is only used for appearance decoration and lacks more practical functions is solved. The aluminum veneer comprises an aluminum veneer body, wherein a plurality of angle irons used for being fixed to a keel are arranged on the inner side of the aluminum veneer body; the upper side face of a top plate of the aluminum veneer body is obliquely arranged, and the outer end of the top plate is obliquely arranged downwards; and a plurality of reinforcing ribs arranged in the width direction are connected in the aluminum veneer body, heat preservation plates are arranged between an outer sideplate of the aluminum veneer body and the reinforcing ribs and between the adjacent reinforcing ribs, a plurality of positioning strips abutting against the inner sides of the heat preservation platesare inserted in the aluminum veneer body from top to bottom, and the positioning strips penetrate through the reinforcing ribs. The effects that the heat preservation and heat insulation performanceof a curtain wall is improved, the heat preservation plates are positioned and fixed, and the simplicity and convenience during installation are improved are achieved; and rainwater is guided outwards, and the possibility that the rainwater permeates into the aluminum veneer or a building is reduced are achieved.
